Two white guys kissing on a cemetery bench were suddenly interrupted by a dogwalker. Had they seen her sunglasses? They promised they’d leave it on the bench if they found it.
They then walked to a nearby lesbian pub. One bore gifts: Patti Smith’s memoir wrapped in an oil-scented green beany hat and a yellow ribbon. “It’s like this,” he said, tying the other’s wrists with the ribbon.
When they laughed, they were young; but when they turned serious, they aged.
Back in the cemetery’s bushes, they pissed side-by-side. Time unfurled until they were nothing but curious, amused little boys.

It’s a great moment captured. Thanks for sharing 💞
This makes me want to go and re-read it. Along with M Train, one of my favourite books about writing and drinking coffee.
